How we plan a six-month build: Architecture, Flutter, Android and iOS

Building a mission-critical safety platform requires absolute technical discipline. An emergency SOS alert cannot fail because of an unhandled null exception or a dropped websocket packet.
We chose Flutter for our client architecture (targeting Android first, with cross-platform iOS modules actively mapped) due to its predictable rendering pipeline, deep native platform channels for SMS and location services, and unified state management.
On the cloud backend, we operate under a strict 'deny-by-default' security posture. Location data is ephemeral: it is only broadcast when an adult explicitly turns sharing on, or when a confirmed SOS countdown triggers. Once an SOS incident is safely resolved by the family owner, location broadcasting ceases automatically.
Furthermore, up to five emergency contacts can be registered per member without requiring those contacts to download any app. In an emergency, our backend sends direct SMS notifications with a secure temporary map link. Reliability in the real world means meeting users where they are.
